Privacy Policy

1. Overview

FlickSort ("we", "our", or "the app") is a photo sorting application designed with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle (or rather, don't handle) your data.

2. Data We Collect

Short answer: None.

FlickSort does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information or user data. The app operates entirely on your device without any network connectivity requirements.

3. Photo Access

FlickSort requires access to your device's photo library to function. This access is used exclusively to:

• Display your photos within the app
• Move photos between albums (when you request it)
• Delete photos (by moving them to system trash, where they are recoverable)

Your photos are never:

• Uploaded to any server
• Shared with third parties
• Analyzed by AI or machine learning
• Used for advertising
• Accessed outside the app

The one thing that does leave your device is the coordinate of a photo you ask to have named or mapped, and only that coordinate — see section 4.

4. Location and Maps

Most photos carry the place they were taken in, stored by the camera inside the photo itself (its EXIF data). FlickSort uses it in one place only — the information popup you open by holding a photo:

• to name the place ("Spodnje Hoče"), the photo's coordinate is sent to Apple's geocoding service;
• to draw the small map of the area, that same coordinate is sent to Apple's Maps service (MapKit), on iOS.

This is carried out by the operating system's own services: FlickSort asks for no location permission, uses no API key of its own, and never asks the device where you are — only where the photo was taken. The photo itself is never uploaded; the coordinate is not stored anywhere outside the app's memory, and it is forgotten when the app closes. If a photo has no location, nothing is sent at all.

5. Data Storage

All app settings and preferences are stored locally on your device using standard platform storage mechanisms (SharedPreferences on Android). This data includes:

• Your album organization preferences
• App settings (swipe sensitivity, haptic feedback, etc.)
• Source folder selections

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

6. Third-Party Services

FlickSort does not integrate any third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools — no SDKs, no analytics, no advertising. The only network service the app talks to is Apple's own geocoding and mapping service, and only when you ask it to name or map the place a photo was taken in: it receives that photo's coordinate (see section 4), never the photo. Beyond that we use no:

• Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• Crash reporting services
• Advertising networks
• Social media integrations

7. Permissions

FlickSort requests the following permissions:

• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: To display your photos
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To organize photos into albums

These permissions are used solely for the stated purposes and are essential for the app to function.

8. Children's Privacy

FlickSort does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no data from anyone, this naturally includes children.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify users through the app. However, our core commitment to privacy will never change.
